STEWARDSHIP OF MONEY

Stewardship begins with knowing that what we have does not belong to us. Whatever resources God has given to us, be it money, time, our minds, etc., is only to hold it in trust for the Master’s use so that the Master is glorified and be shown that the Master is more desirable and satisfying above all other things.

However, Christians struggle with stewardship over money.  We have so many competing needs. We worry “money no enough” (with multiple movies made on this) as living in Singapore is expensive. We worry whether we can even have enough money to retire, much less giving it away for Kingdom purposes.

In this 2-hour interactive session which includes group discussions and a panel session, Brother Yiu Way will examine our own attitudes over money and the stewardship of it by looking at the Bible’s account in John 12:1-8. Was Martha exercising wise stewardship by pouring perfume over Jesus’ feet when that money could have been sold to give to the poor, as suggested by Judas? What does Martha’s heart show that she valued most when compared to Judas’ suggestion to give the money to the poor? What value do we attach to money in our lives?

Together with Brother Yiu Way, Elder Eng Beng and Brother Benjamin Foo will form a panel to answer questions that you may have, of what we can do to wisely manage our money so that we can be more effective in our stewardship.
