Our Ministries

If you are between the ages of 13 – 18, Kaleô Ministry is the place for you! Kaleô in Greek means “to call”. We believe that the Great I AM/ God is calling young people to Follow Him and Love Others passionately.

In Kaleô, we help young people to:

1. Discover the wonders of God’s Word and how It can be lived out
2. Depend on God in Prayer
3. Deepen our sense of community
4. Declare God’s Love to our pre-believing friends

We meet every Sunday in Carmel Room ( 5^th Floor) from 11.30am to 1pm. During this time, our young people engage in a mix of the following activities:

1. Youth-led worship
2. Games
3. Small group Bible studies
4. Youth related theme talks

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” – These were Jesus’ words to His disciples when the children were hindered from coming into the presence of our Lord, in Matthew 19:14.

We echo the same vision. Children are part of the church of today and will grow to be disciple makers in the next generation. We hope that children will “not let anyone look down on [them] because [they] are young, but set an example in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12).

It is with this hope that we begin discipling our children through weekly Bible lessons. We gather around a passage of God’s Word and activities that help the lessons come alive for the children. We commit the Word of God to memory through our monthly Scripture memory verses and encourage our children to worship God wholeheartedly with their voices and with actions, in our thrice-a-month combined worship. We join the inter-generational service and Holy communion on the first Sunday of each month as a reminder that children are part of the larger body.

Apart from the weekly programmes, we encourage children to reach out to their community through our yearly children’s outreach camp in November, during which we have a few days of fun, discovering God’s identity for the children and His heart through games, songs, and activities that tell of God’s character.

Children’s Ministry (ages 3-12) meets every Sunday, from 9.15am – 11am
1^st Sunday of each month: Communion Sunday (family worship in sanctuary)
Subsequent Sundays: Combined Children Worship in Carmel room (level 5)

What cells are to a human body is what Cell Groups are to our church body. Healthy Cell Groups lead to a healthy church body!

Cell Groups are our primary disciple-making vehicles, and are a vital part of our church community. They serve the following functions:

1. Integrate newcomers into our community
2. Encourage members in their walk and life in Jesus
3. Connect the reality of members’ faith to the real needs around us
4. Provide the environment to grow in love for God and people
5. Provide the support as members navigate through life’s various challenges

Our aim is to produce, with God’s help, mature and healthy Christ-followers, who in turn are a blessing to their family, neighbours and country.

Our Cell Groups are age-specific, covering Youth (13-18 ears old), Young Adults (18-35 years old) and Adult. They meet at least twice a month, in various venues.

A typical Cell Group programming includes:

1. Worship – turning hearts to God
2. Word – turning hearts to the study and application of His Word
3. Work – turning hearts to service according to gifting
4. Witness – turning hearts to reaching others for Christ

We firmly believe that these verses apply to all, old and young. Therefore, we invite all seniors aged 65 and above to join us in learning and staying active through:

1. Studying and discussing God’s Word
2. Praying for one another
3. Sharing and encouraging one another
4. Listening to talks on managing the ageing process and issues relating to seniors
5. Caring and reaching out to the unsaved
6. Joining us for quarterly lunch fellowship sessions

As seniors, let us continue to lead fruitful lives and provide meaningful relationship with other seniors.  We need one another to encourage and spur us on. This group seeks to promote spiritual, physical, intellectual and emotional growth.Nourish your soul, body and mind.

Join us to grow in godliness and glow in vitality, every Sunday at Antioch room (Level 4), from 11am to 12.30pm.

Our ministry is part of a never-ending, never-ceasing and an everlasting universal Choir who have been worshipping our Lord and Saviour over past generations and over generations to come. Yes, whilst here on earth and continued in Heaven.

At GEFC, we believe that worship is more than singing a well-written and meaningful song, playing a tune, or performing a dance offering on a bright Sunday morning. We believe worship is a lifestyle weaved into our very being. It is a lifestyle of utmost devotion and unending praise to God in all that we do – yes, even on weekdays. This is our ministry’s singular aspiration for everyone at GEFC.

Our Worship Ministry consists of over 50 worshippers, who are part of our various teams i.e. worship hosts, worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, AV crew and ushers. We believe that it is an honour and privilege that we get to lift up praise to the Lord and draw the congregation into His presence.

We are always on the lookout for people who have a heart to join the worship ministry. Come and join us and let us get a head start into eternal worship.

The Outreach Ministry reaches out to the community, seeking to reflect the love of Jesus in all that we say and do. We plan a series of activities to cater to the needs and interests of the young and the not-so-young. It is our hope that through these activities, lives can be reached, impacted and transformed.

There are 3 main types of Outreach activities:

3G Program – Let’s Go Gai Gai

We hold family-friendly events to reach out to families and the elderly. These events provide opportunities to take time out amidst a busy society, and to engage in meaningful conversations and enjoy time with one another. Past outings include outdoor dancing at the Botanic Gardens, mid-autumn festival celebrations at Gardens by the Bay, and overseas trips, to Johor Baru and Penang. We have also facilitated educational talks like Traditional Chinese Medicine. We love seeing 3 (sometimes, 4!) generations of family members coming together, sharing precious time and creating memories together.

4G Program – Come and See

4G events are specially planned for young adults and youths, both in the church and in the community. These events create platforms for meaningful engagement among the young people. We also seek to help foreign students and working adults assimilate into Singapore’s culture. Past events include floorball matches, hikes to Singapore’s nature reserves, and rock climbing events. It is our heart’s desire to impact the leaders of tomorrow, today! We hope to see generations of youths impacted and transformed in Jesus, and contribute to the betterment of Singapore and our society at large.

Special Projects

The Outreach ministry also seeks opportunities to reach out to the marginalised and disadvantaged. We encourage our members and friends to go beyond their comfort zone and be friends to them. We have organised events for Hagar Singapore – an international organisation dedicated to the recovery of women and children who have endured extreme abuses and the trauma of human trafficking and slavery.
